Delta Sierra Middle:
After school today, we were informed that a student was approached by an adult female in a red Subaru on the way home. The adult female tried to get the student to come into their vehicle. The student declined and made it home safely. The Stockton Police Department was contacted with this information.
Please remind your children to be extra vigilant when they are walking to and from school. Below are some additional safety tips for your children:
- Use the buddy system when walking to and from school.
- If anyone bothers you while going to and from school, say no, then go, and tell a trusted adult.
- If someone you don't know offers you a ride, say NO.
- If someone follows you on foot, get away from them as quickly as possible, and tell a trusted adult.
- If someone tries to take you somewhere, get away from them as quickly as possible, and yell "this person is trying to take me away!"
- Never leave school with someone you don't know. Always check first with your parents or a trusted adult.
- If you want to change your plans after school, always check first with your parents or a trusted adult.
- If you go home alone after school, check to see that the windows and entrances appear OK before entering. Once inside, call your parents to inform them that you made it home.
- Always trust your instincts. If someone makes you feel uncomfortable, get away as quickly as possible, and tell your parents or a trusted adult.
Please email me if you have any questions.
